Less and more - Dieter Rams Retrospective displays selected HEWI products

The "LESS AND MORE. The DESIGN ETHOS OF DIETER RAMS." exhibition with more than 500 exhibits presents the work of the German icon of product design.
As Braun's designer, Dieter Rams set product design standards for four decades: Reduced shapes, clear design, high degree of functionality and modularity - all have become principles of modern design.

The show illustrates his current importance in industrial design by showing products of the present which are based on Dieter Rams' ten rules for good design. The exhibition includes selected HEWI exhibits taken from the System 800 as representatives of reduced, emotional design. The consistent design principle of System 800 can be clearly identified: Large harmonious radii and logical, consistent shape and volume reduction give the products their unmistakeable design – pure, linear and yet nevertheless emotional.

The exhibition will be on view in the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco from 27 August 2011 until 20 February 2012.
