The row washbasin from HEWI was awarded the “German Innovation Award – Winner 2022” in the category “Excellence in Business to Business – Building & Elements”.

Row washbasin from HEWI

The HEWI row washbasins with three or four places encourage children to wash their hands with their cheerful colours. The built-in height and depth gradation adapts optimally to the children’s anatomy. Rounded corners and edges protect them from impacts and support the good accessibility of the fittings. An integrated baffle disc invites playful exploration of the element of water. The washbasins are also easy to clean and hygienic. Even acrylic and finger paints can be removed from the non-porous surface without leaving any residue.

The competition

The German Innovation Award is awarded by the German Design Council. It distinguishes products, solutions, and services across all sectors. That’s because: innovations that shape the future and improve life can be found in all industries. In this way, it makes outstanding achievements and innovations visible to a broad audience. The important thing is that the submissions make life more beneficial and pave the way for a better future. Award-winning solutions are characterised by their added value compared with previous products as well as their orientation towards the users.

The jury of the German Innovation Awards is made up of experts from industry, science, and finance. The submissions are evaluated based on three criteria: level of innovation, user benefits, and economic efficiency.
