HessenChemie Campus, Wiesbaden

The HessenChemie Campus is also the representative headquarters of the employer's association and exhibition of the members. Primarily products from the chemical and plastics processing industry were installed in the association's headquarters.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The aim of the representative new building is to reflect HessenChemie's core principle of actively creating instead of administrating. The employer's association of the chemical and plastics processing industry has over 300 members. The modern office concept of the HessenChemie campus creates transparent structures and has a pioneering role with regard to energy efficiency and sustainability. In so doing, they undershot the stipulations of energy saving regulations by 96.2 percent.

The building with the striking line of windows was planned by architecture firm grabowski.spork from Wiesbaden. From the exterior facade to wall design and fittings - association member product's were implemented wherever possible. The design shows the performance and sustainability of the industry, in accordance with the guiding principle: "Innovation made in Germany". A closer connection between the building and the user is created.

It as ensured, down to the last detail, that the materials and design produce a consistent appearance. For instance, the styling of the facade is revisited in the furnishings and similar materials are re-utilized.

 

Plexiglas from Evonik was not only used to design the outer shell, but was also used in the sanitary rooms of the fronts of the S-01 modules. The non-porous, water-repelling surface of acrylic glass is excellent for use in sanitary areas since dirt can hardly stick to it and it is easy to clean. The design of the module creates architectural clarity and provides a spacious, tidy ambiance. Washbasins, toilet and urinal modules were utilized. S 01 is a unique complete system. The internal components, for instance the fold-down handle or toilet brush, can be folded out of the module using "push-release" technology and then sink back to become flush with the module after usage. System S 01 enables an innovative architectural solution thereby highlighting the representative design of the HessenChemie campus.
