St. Benedikt Foundation retirement home, Nuremberg

Thanks to the reserved design, the barrier-free products are not distracting when they are not in use.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The mission of the St. Benedikt Foundation retirement and nursing home in Nuremberg is to respect the individuality of the individual residents. Single or double room apartments are available to the majority of the residents. The apartments have a kitchen unit as well as a bathroom. The combined living room /bedroom can be individually furnished with one's own furniture. The living concept promotes the residents' independence, encouraging them to independently perform the activities that they are able to do. Providing care in a humane manner is another important concept. The concept is particularly based on the

private and intimate sphere of each individual. For this reason, each apartment has a bathroom. They are designed in such a way that they provide support to the user. The washbasin has an integrated handle that a person can brace themselves on or pull a wheelchair towards. The shower and toilet are equipped with restraint systems that provide safety and support movement sequences. There is also a fold-down shower seat installed in the shower. The seat can be folded into the wall to make space when it is not needed. Thanks to the reserved design, the barrier-free products are not distracting when they are not in use.
