HEWI was able to convince the jury and was awarded the "German Innovation Award - Winner 2019" for System 900 in the category "Excellence in Business to Business - Building and Elements".
System 900 was developed in the spirit of universal design and meets the requirements of a wide variety of building types and user groups - whether in the standard patient bathroom of a hospital, in the comfort ward of a private clinic or in the exclusive senior citizens' residence. Focusing on people, System 900 supports both users and caregivers. System 900 also offers individual solutions in hotels or bathrooms at home that provide security and promote independence, while at the same time meeting the highest aesthetic standards in sophisticated interiors. System 900 combines design with clever functions for more comfort in the bathroom, tailored to the individual requirements of users.
Material options allow freedom of design - System 900 is available with stainless steel, chrome and powder coated finishes in various shades. Deep matt white, light grey pearl mica, dark grey pearl mica and black offer design options for architecture and interior design.
The jury consists of independent, interdisciplinary experts from industry, science, institutions and finance. The evaluation was based on the criteria of innovation, user benefit and cost-effectiveness and takes into account aspects such as social and ecological sustainability, durability, quality and functionality.
The coveted prize was initiated by the German Bundestag. The organiser of the competition is the German Design Council. Since 1953, the competitions of the German Design Council have distinguished design, brand and innovation achievements of international standing.
