Universal Design Competition 2022: HEWI receives two awards
HEWI is committed to universal design and stands for well thought-out design, a high level of functionality, and forward-looking innovations. That’s why the HEWI seat family and the HEWI tilting mirror were recently honored with the Universal Design Expert Award at the Universal Design Competition 2022.
HEWI tilting mirror
Tilting mirrors are used particularly where continuous mirrors cannot be installed due to pre-wall installations. The HEWI tilting mirror models in illuminated or non-illuminated versions offer users added convenience at the washbasin. Modern lighting technology is integrated in the illuminated tilting mirrors. This allows the user to flexibly adjust the light temperature as well as the intensity at the mirror. Lighting control is provided by a powerless and battery-free Bluetooth wireless wall switch that can be positioned anywhere. This allows for optimal placement at the washstand – geared to the individual needs of the user.
HEWI seat family
The HEWI seat family increases comfort and safety in the sanitary room and provides the scope for design diversity. Their design captivates with a new, modern design language. One of the design highlights is the filigree frame, which gives it visual lightness. Selected models have additional features, such as a towel rail or various holding options. The furniture optimally adapts to the body shape and supports a stable sitting position of the users. Thanks to the cross-system design and HEWI's system expertise, the two stools and two bathroom chairs integrate perfectly into any bathroom and can be combined with other accessories from HEWI. Both in private bathrooms and in public sanitary rooms, the products are versatile.
