More hygiene and infection protection with HEWI
Particularly in the area of Care, the topic of hygiene has always been of great importance. Today, however, hygiene and infection control are also becoming the determining factors in the interior design of public and semi-public buildings. In this article you will find out how materials, surfaces and clever details can make more hygiene possible.
Even with good cleaning intervals, handrails, door handles and the sanitary equipment represent fertile ground for a large number of pathogens and thus an increased risk of infection. Innovative materials, hygienic processing and intelligent functions can effectively support hygiene and significantly reduce the risk of infection.
Hygienic materials reduce infections
Besides respiratory infection, transmission of viruses and bacteria via the hands is the second most common source of infection. The choice of materials has a decisive influence on hygienic product design.Stainless steel has a non-porous and therefore particularly hygienic surface. Minimal maintenance is sufficient to prevent dirt or microorganisms from accumulating. The material is extremely robust and insensitive to scratches. Stainless steel products are extremely resistant to cleaning agents and disinfectants.
High-gloss polyamide also has a non-porous surface and optimum cleaning properties. At HEWI, the choice of material is a key component of product development. The innovative surface active+ has been additionally enriched with microsilver, which continuously reduces the growth of germs on the surface and thus offers an effective hygiene plus for corridors and sanitary areas.
How well thought-out details improve hygiene
We also make sure that our products have the smallest possible number of joints and connection points where dirt and water can collect. This is particularly important at the washbasin or in the shower.
Due to wall unevenness, the fixing rosettes of railing systems and shower handrails are often not completely flush with the wall. With a sealing element a fast and reliable sealing is available.
The wall brackets, for example of the folding support handles, as well as the fixing rosettes of the grab rails from System 900 can be equipped with such a sealing element. The products are also designed so that water does not collect on the surfaces and can run off.
From the moment we enter to the moment we leave the sanitary rooms, which are equipped with common dispenser systems, we touch up to 20 objects - from the door handle to the soap dispenser to the lever of the fitting. To avoid the risk of infection, non-contact product solutions are therefore recommended. In addition to classic sanitary solutions, HEWI offers a wide range of products in a non-contact Sensoric version.
