Modernised bungalow, Hamburg
An aging bungalow in Hamburg was completely gutted and renovated. The intention for the project was to transform the house into a contemporary and unconventional home. The interior design with historical and new design classics gives the building an up-to-date zeitgeist. As a highlight of the bungalow, the book wall, which was specially designed for the living room at the time, has been preserved and thus contributes to the contrasting ambience of the residence.
Compact architecture with homogeneous facade design
After the renovation, the house presents itself in a modern and minimalistic style. The clients rely on clear structures and colourful accents for the interior design. Dark window frames contrast with the light walls of the rooms. The kitchen in particular, with its contrasting design of dark cabinets to the light-filled living space, reflects the clean lines found throughout the house.
For the interior doors, the clients opted for plain white elements with matching frames from Brüchert + Kärner. As an elegant accent on the doors, the lever handle System 111 in various colours was used everywhere. At the same time, the lever handles blend in perfectly with the architectural design and form a unit with the other furnishings. In order to achieve a holistic design, window fittings from System 111 from HEWI were also used to match the door handles.
The company Brüchert + Kärner produces high-quality doors by hand and pays attention to quality in material, design, workmanship and functionality. The doors form an aesthetic symbiosis in combination with the design icon System 111.
The company's doors installed in the Hamburg bungalow are from the "cool and noble" series, which support contemporary architecture. In the sense of this series, contemporary stands for design with straight lines and clear forms.
