HEWI awarded the German Design Award 2023
The German Design Award discovers and presents unique cross-industry design trends: a competition that promotes the design-oriented economy. This award honours product solutions that provide answers to the challenges of our time and take design concepts further.
HEWI ICONIC was awarded the German Design Award 2023 in the category Special Mention for outstanding design quality. In the category Excellent Product Design - Bath and Wellness, the new colour editions of the classic 477/801 won over the international jury of experts.
HEWI ICONIC
With three expanded colour concepts, HEWI has succeeded in giving the 477/801 series a new look that appeals to the senses. Colour inspires on an emotional level, creates atmosphere, brings authenticity and individuality to interiors. The targeted use of colour makes it possible to influence the feeling of well-being in a space. For HEWI, therefore, colour is elementary in adapting a design icon that is virtually perfect in terms of design and function to current trends and in increasing the scope for design in planning. The new tricolour colour canon for healthcare buildings in the care sector comprises the vitalising shades coral, aqua blue and pure white. HEWI presents the editions apple green, may green, coral as well as aqua blue, steel blue and apple green especially for children’s hospitals, nurseries and kindergartens – soft, calming and harmonising tones.
German Design Council
The German Design Award is presented by the German Design Council. This is one of the leading international competence centres for design. Initiated by the German Bundesrat, it has been supporting companies in their brand and design development for almost 70 years and strengthens German design as an economic factor.
