PVD-finished lever handles: Room for manoeuvre for architectural concepts

Today, lever handles are far more than just functional objects. They play a key design and technical role in high-quality interior concepts and make a significant contribution to the overall architectural effect. Solutions are needed that impress with their shape, material and feel and are durable, easy-care and resistant at the same time.

The combination of design and technology is particularly evident in surfaces that meet the highest aesthetic and functional requirements. PVD-coated lever handle models combine precisely these qualities: They enable brilliant colours, an elegant feel and exceptional durability.

In the following article, we show how this technology contributes to the special value and design quality.

What is PVD? The technology behind elegant surfaces

PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a high-performance coating process in which metallic surface layers are applied in a vacuum. The result: a particularly scratch-resistant, corrosion-resistant and easy-to-clean surface with a unique depth of colour.

Compared to conventional processes, PVD coating offers a very high durability and therefore a lasting high-quality aesthetic. This benefits both design lovers, who pay attention to sophisticated design, and facility managers, for whom durable and easy-care solutions are crucial. Even in heavily frequented areas such as hotels, office buildings or public facilities this technology therefore proves its worth in particular. The flooring can be used for a wide range of applications;

 Design with substance: Colour, material and expression

The functional advantages are one thing, the design possibilities are another. In architecture, colours, materials and surfaces have an effect that goes far beyond their appearance. They structure spaces, create atmosphere and support the design concept.

PVD coatings open up new scope in this context. They enable metallic colour nuances with impressive colour depth and a surface that feels particularly high-quality. Depending on the design idea, the different available variants either integrate as eye-catchers with a strong character or blend harmoniously into the overall look of a room. This creates scope for design for continuous, coordinated furnishing concepts.

Precision on a small scale: Lever handles as a design intersection

In architecture, it is often the detail that determines the overall effect of a room. Lever handles with high-quality coatings enable exactly this effect on a small scale. They either blend harmoniously into the room concept or set specific accents. This is particularly evident in PVD-coated models, which, in addition to technical quality also impress with their variety of colours and depth of material.

With the 270 design series and the 162 system in the mini version, HEWI offers two product lines that meet precisely this requirement:

HARDWARE SERIES 270: EXPRESSIVE IN SHAPE AND SURFACE

The architecturally appealing Series 270, designed by Hadi Teherani, stands for clear lines and precise proportions. Now available with elegant PVD surfaces, it includes both lever handles and matching window handles and enables a consistent design down to the last detail.

The colour palette underlines the design claim: Five brushed colour variants - including Gold, Nickel, Bronze, Brass and Copper - open up a wide range of possibilities for integration into different room concepts. These surfaces not only impress with their elegance and brilliance of colour, but also with their exceptional durability. Thanks to its in-house PVD system, HEWI guarantees the highest quality and a consistent look for years to come. Production takes place regionally in Germany and allows complete control over material, colour and workmanship. The Range 270 with PVD coating thus exemplifies modern product design that combines form, function and responsibility.

The PVD option is available for the entire Series 270 and is available for the entire range. Matching also selected products from the sanitary series S 900, S 900 Q, S 162 and S 480 as well as the panic bar are available in the respective colour shades enabling a continuous design line from the door to the bathroom.

System 162 with mini rose: Reduction meets material expression

The System 162 stands for a timeless, puristic style that deliberately focuses on the essentials. A characteristic design element is the precise mitre cut, which gives the lever handle a clear, architectural contour. In combination with the mini rose, this reduction is consistently continued and the style is emphasised even more strongly.

In the mini variant, System 162 is also available with selected PVD surfaces.The available variants in brass and copper add a high-quality dimension to the system, which not only enhance the minimalistic design, but also specifically reinforce its effect through the use of materials. System 162 with mini thus becomes an element that consciously restrains the design and yet makes a clear statement.

Timeless elegance meets technical perfection

Lever handles with PVD coating combine outstanding design with durable technology. They are a statement of value, in detail as well as in the overall concept. They therefore fulfil their key role not only functionally, but also as style-defining design elements;
