HEWI presents new fittings and compact washbasins for architectural bathroom design
Form and function in harmony: With new, reduced-size washbasin models and the stylish AQ 111 and AQ 477 fittings, HEWI is expanding the sanitary range and extending fit-out options. While the compact washbasins address spaces with particularly limited dimensions, the fittings set design accents and at the same time blend into the HEWI system. This results in solutions that are just as convincing in private bathrooms as they are in hotel projects, public buildings, nursing care facilities or the education sector.
AQ 111 – Puristic contour with lateral operation
The AQ 111 fitting is inspired by the characteristic round tubular design of the iconic HEWI System 111 lever handle and consistently transfers the style of that lever handle to the sanitary area. With a diameter of 32 millimetres, the cylindrical tap body stands for a quiet stringency and visual presence. The side-mounted lever is precision-fitted, with virtually gap-free movement against the housing and does not have a bevelled contour. Designed for user-friendly operation and with its striking silhouette, the tap fits perfectly into the room as a targeted accent. The integrated swivelling jet regulator allows flexible direction of the water stream.

The AQ 477 fitting adopts the clear design language of the HEWI Series 477 and translates it to the washbasin. Precise lines and a reduced design combine to create a distinctive yet system-integrated solution for a wide range of architectural bathroom concepts.

AQ 477 – Clear line with cohesive system design
The AQ 477 fitting picks up on the design elements of HEWI's 477 range of the same name and translates them for the washbasin. The metal lever, optionally featuring a coloured polyamide accent, is precisely attached to the body without any visible joint or bevel cut. The structural precision is evident not only in the silhouette, but also in the harmoniously crafted details. The choice of mounting, with or without a rose base, allows customised integration – as a striking geometric addition to the room or as a discreet, surface-integrated solution.
With its ergonomically shaped operating lever, the AQ 477 is designed for intuitive use according to the principles of universal design. The coloured element is available in 16 colours, creates contrasts and makes orientation easier for those with impaired vision.

The AQ 111 fitting transfers the characteristic tubular form of the HEWI System 111 door handle to the sanitary sector. With its cylindrical body and side-integrated lever, it creates a striking, minimalist accent at the washbasin.

Sophisticated technology and design diversity
Both system fittings are equipped with high-quality components and designed for durability and reliable operation. The cartridges come from the manufacturer Kerox, while laminar flow regulators and connection hoses from Neoperl ensure an even and resource-saving water flow. All water-bearing components are nickel-free. Compliance with relevant DIN standards and future European directives confirms the technical standard of both models.
The fittings offer a wide range of designs in terms of appearance: In addition to classic surfaces such as chrome or black matt, variants in white matt and brass glossy are also available. This opens up differentiated possibilities for integration into various architectural contexts.
Compact washbasins – equipment options for limited floor plans
The existing washbasin product range is now being supplemented by three space-saving models that have been specially developed for small bathrooms and guest bathrooms. Different design approaches – with fittings positioned to the side, an integrated storage area or a particularly reduced form with softly rounded edges – open up solutions for compact and sophisticated room situations.
The version with fittings positioned to the side also fulfils the Document M requirements and thus enables compliant, accessible implementation in the UK.
All models are made of cast mineral material and finished with a gelcoat coating. This material enables a sealed, non-porous surface and a homogeneous design from a single mould. The look is calm and coherent. At the same time, the material retains its high-quality appearance even with intensive use.
In addition, the new washbasins are integrated into the HEWI system concept. Their look is based on existing ranges and carries on the design principles of these ranges at the washbasin. From the aspect of universal design, too, the models are conceived to take different requirements into account without surrendering their design independence.

The new compact washbasins from HEWI expand the range with space-saving solutions for small bathrooms, toilet facilities, and guest bathrooms. Different versions—with side-mounted fittings, integrated shelves, or softly rounded edges—offer functional and design options for demanding, confined spaces.
